Biography
Erica Ma has a Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Her specialties are in assistive technology and diabetes care & education. She has dedicated over 7 years to the spinal cord injury-neurological population at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. Erica specializes in complex rehabilitation technology, performing assessments and training in their Wheelchair and Seating Clinic. She is a strong advocate for ensuring continuous improvement to better equip Veterans with adaptations for successful living after a traumatic event.   She has partnered with the University of Pittsburg Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology with their implementation of the Functional Mobility Assessment. Her passion for assistive technology is evident in her support of shaping practice guidelines and conference presentations for the American Occupational Therapy Association. In her spare time, she is an independent consultant for Periscope as a clinical reviewer helping provide comprehensive and objective recommendations for health plan members’ durable medical equipment and care needs.
